Hi there! My name is Daria and I'm looking for a summer job. I'm 16 years old and am eager to start working this summer. I want new experience and do something productive during summer. I am a quick learner and can adapt to any situations. I can be of great help and a good worker. I have really good interpersonal skills so talking with customers would be no hassle to me. Does anyone know if there are any vacations open or what shops might take people my age? I live in Swords,Co.Dublin. Thanks :)

Your local Supervalu could be a good place to start. AFAIK, as you're 16 there are limitations on the number of hours you can work per week.

Thanks, do you know any other places I could try? I have limits but I can work 40 hrs a week.

Are ye strong? Do want to walk around your entire county? If yes to both of these, look into delivering leaflets. The wage ain't bad (usually 1 cent a leaflet), the hours long (how many houses are in your local estates), and the weather is a bitch. Also, you'll have to carry them in loads. The sooner you start, the sooner you finish.

Oh, and the place I worked for as a kid (long long time ago); you only know you have a leaflet drop when you wake up in the morning to find 3 leaflets for each of the 1,600 houses (worked out to be 30 Irish punts). Back when minimum wage was £2 an hour, £30 was damn good for a (8 hour) days work!
