Did you try burning it off? As in ising a gas torch. Try it on a small area first to make sure it doesn't further stain the ground

Hi thanks for you help, my problem now is that I put some stuff on the drive and it faded the colour. Would you know if its possible to paint a matted concrete drive and what would be best to use.

    Thanking you

Just going back to the original issue, I have heard that Coca Cola is good for removing oil, never tried it myself though.

Sorry, I can't help with your current issue.

I remember some years ago that there was a company selling a liquid product that was intended to encapsulate such things as oils in soils and in concrete. The product was, basically, isinglass. At the time we purchased some and tried it out on a deliberate oil spill on concrete, and it appeared to work. The oil wasn't removed, but it did seem to just disappear leaving no marks on the concrete. I don't know if that firm exists any more, but isinglass is available quite cheaply from home brew suppliers.

Johnny, you can remove the oil using numerous degreasers. Some can be diluted with water. You will achieve a better result using hot or even boiling water for diluting. What you will probably notice is that a stain remains, no matter how much scrubbing you do. This is from the carbon in the oil. This stain usually fades in time, once the oil has been removed. Coke contains an acid, so it could potentially damage the concrete if you apply too much. Acid is not generally the best for degreasing. I would try Fairy liquid with hot water. It will probably do a good job. The stain will fade, don't worry.
