I've switched back to pants.... but then again, I am batman.

    Are we talking tighty whiteys?

No man under 85 should wear tighty whiteys.

For any reason, before anyone suggests his golden nuggets are so gigantic they need the support.

Does this mean that men are going to start walking around with their willies hanging out?

    I might need new glasses.

Human Resources insist I wear pants in the workplace.

If some says pants to me I think of trousers/chinos/ etc. rather than underwear. I'm not the only one, right?
But in terms of underwear I go for boxer-briefs. Best of both worlds.

I'd like a pair of Necropants, at least the ballsack would be handy for holding the coins I stole off widows.

"pants" for underwear, is more american, I find it odd to see here...and was thinking trousers too.

A nice pair of loose-fitting y-fronts in a fetching off-white shade is the only way to go.

Actually it's the reverse, "pants" in the States is trousers. Here and in the UK, pants are underwear. Sometimes in contrast to "boxers", pants can mean just mean briefs.

Underpants is a unisex word in the US, although panties is also used for womens underpants. I wish it wasn't, I hate the word panties.

    you're very mixed up..maybe uk.

but I've NEVER heard pants being used for anything other than trousers here.. munster area however.... maybe its different elsewhere.

I've also confused my american friends when I say I just bought a new pair of pants, and if they'd like to see.............

They're trousers mate (unless you are American).

In Ireland & Britain 'pants' usually refer to pants, as in underpants, like briefs, boxers, Y-fronts, banana hammocks etc, :))

In American speak, pants = trousers.
In Ireland/UK speak, pants = underpants.

Maybe this short video will clear up any confusion surrounding the issue.

This is NOT true for the whole of Ireland, mate.
Nor for the whole of america.

seems we've got that cleared up...

I'm from NY, and I call shenanigans. Pants = Trousers? Good. Pants = Underwear? Not on my watch.

I think pants for underwear is more of a UK term.

Actually, the good people at the oxford english dictionary seem to agree with me.
    pants

    Pronunciation: /pan(t)s /
    NOUN

    1) British Underpants or knickers.
    MORE EXAMPLE SENTENCES
    SYNONYMS
    2) chiefly North American Trousers:

(as modifier pant) wide pant legs

When I moved from the UK to Ireland as a very young child I was continually confused by people referring to trousers as pants. I thought you were all mad.

My Nan nearly gave her friend a heart attack before telling her she paid €100 for some pants :D

No man should wear those tight pants rolled up half way up the shin.

Bonus twat points for coupling it with a beard.

A guiy in those really tight lycra-esque boxer type things is a sight to behold. Especially if they're novelty ones. Dayum.

It's such a dirty old man word, there's a women's clothes shop near here that has a big "50% off panties!" sign in the window, it makes me cringe seeing it.
