I just set up Paypal on a whim. I've always made purchases with my card online, now I have Paypal. What can a guy do differently? Maybe nothing.

For anyone who uses Paypal, what are the perks and why do you like it?

On eBay, some people only accept Paypal as payment.

If you sell anything online, you can receive payment via Paypal, which offers you insurance protection and you don't have to give your bank details to the buyer.

If you buy anything online, you can generally pay by Paypal.

I don't really know what other perks there are. Privacy and insurance would be the main ones I suppose.

Before I apply the lube, why am I being penetrated in this analogy?

    This.

What's next? What size socks will I buy? What address will I send them to? Does anyone know if I'm allergic to cotton? What will I have for dinner?

Can I go on your ignore list too? I'll pay you. Through Paypal preferably.

All jokes aside, I find PayPal incredibly useful as I do a lot more online shopping since moving here!

eBay. Very useful, as a lot of sellers will not accept card payments/cheques/postal orders/bankers drafts.

Set up a Parcel Motel account. You can pay for it using PayPal! :). Good for stuff online where either the sellers won't post here full stop, or charge you hideous amounts of money to send. Very useful for UK purchases where the postage is free. Simply send to the Antrim address, and all you'll be charged for is the E3.50 to bring it over the border...

Most online shops have a PayPal facility. In fact - I don't buy unless I can pay by PayPal...

Paypal is great, i always use it as i know i will get a refund if an item isn't up to scratch. I'd actually be a bit weary of a site not excepting paypal.

its useful also for using on offers, eg with bookies new customer offers, free trials, etc where you have already used your credit card to get them. Use paypal and you can sign up for them again.

I'm tired of all sites other than PayPal too. Or is it just PayPal? Double negatives can be tricky.

Buy something whimsical so, perhaps a tasteful painting of a unicorn frollicking on a rainbow, rendered in pastels on velvet?

Or memory cards. You can never have enough memory cards.

The only thing PayPal is necessary for is eBay. That's it.

But, some other online stores accept payment from PayPal, so it's handy not having to put through your card details every time you want to buy something.

That's about it. There really isn't any need to transfer month INTO your PayPal account.

Welcome to the internet my friend. You can buy loads of things on eBay such as vancouver smoked salmon, radio frying pans, golf shirts, stake awake pills. You may even be able to purchase a top of the line, trained collie......

Depends. I've found a other outlets that use paypal. It is the largest on-line payment processor in the world so it's a bit more than eBay.

Although the big benefit with using PayPal on ebay is that you get full buyer protection. So you buy an iPhone and it doesn't arrive, you'll get the money back. You buy an iPhone and you get a box with a brick in it, you get your money back. So long as you use paypal on ebay of course.

I have a friend who worked fraud in PayPal. He said part of his job was to find out which webcam models accepted PayPal so he could then close their paypal account because there's no porn or gambling with paypal.

Edit: I've used mine more since AIB started issuing visa debit cards. My debit card is now tied to my paypal account so it debits my account in real time and doesn't involve a credit card.

So just eBay then. But not just eBay.

PayPal are breaking my balls at the moment. They "think" a third party tried to access my account. I think it was actually me using a different computer to link my new creditcard to my account. All this sh!t blew up the day after I did this.
End result is they have my account limited now and made me change my password and security questions (twice), send them photo ID and this has dragged on for three weeks now. Incompetent shower of chimps wont reply to e-mails for days on end. Head wrecking.....

Yeah, I've never saw the need of transferring months into it either.

They've shut down entire businesses - big ones -over that kind of thing. You can never have all your eggs in PayPal's basket.

    .

This is true. but it's more "payers" who 'pay' the model, type "for strip show" (or something similar) when transferring money.
then contact paypal, and say their account was hacked.

They get the money back, the cam model has their account closed and loses the money.
They also have their email/bank/card details blocked as well.
