Valeo reverse sensor kit problem!

    Hi,
    I am trying to install a valeo reverse sensor kit on my car and have run into a problem.
    I have installed the sensors on the rear bumper and connected to the reverse light but when i put car into reverse gear i the system beeps 3 times indicating a sensor fault. I removed all the sensors from the ecu controller and installed them one by one, it beeped three times for each one i connected. The kit was given to me a as a present almost two years ago but i didnt get round to fitting it til now, would this cause the ecu to fail??
    The kit includes angle correction fittings but they will not fit in the holes i have made as they are larger than the drill bit supplied to fit the sensors, has anyone came across this before? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
