Walking through an airport with my own silver coins

    Hi Guys

I previously put up a thread which was closed before my second query was answered.

Basically I own a few silver coins and I am wondering if I can take them home from where I am at the moment in Australia without issues?

Would I need a receipt to prove I own them?

Or will I be asked to pay to VAT on something I already own?

    Thanks

PS on a lighter note can members of the Third Reich allow this thread to stay open for a little longer than the last thread I opened?

Your last thread had been closed because a) your question was answered, i.e. you will have to pay VAT on them if purchased outside of Ireland and b) further suggestions of how to avoid paying tax on them had been indirectly made.

Although you say "on a lighter note", the moderators here do not take kindly to the suggestion they are "members of the Third Reich". If you need any further information about how to bring in your coins and if you have to pay any outstanding fees/tax you can contact Customs directly here:

Here is an information page about individuals returning to Ireland having purchased goods in another country:

The subject matter of this thread is now closed. Please do not open any other threads in this forum on this subject.
