I came home a few hours ago to see our bedroom window broken. On closer inspection I seen it was the centre pane in the tripple glaze that's broken. It's shattered into a thousand pieces that are all still in place. This is the pane in the sash opening. Anyone know why this could happen.?
The windows are 2 years old and the window company are gone bust. The glass seems to be made by a company call Diamond so I guess I will get on to them.
Anyone in this field have any pointers?

Sounds like the glass was damaged in a small way, at the time the Unit was made, and vibration, opening/closing the sash, it has finally gone.
Its in a thousand pieces as it's Toughened glass.
unusual that it would take 2 years to finally go.

Diamond are still in Business, however, their warranty was to the Window Co, and does not pass to you, if they are gone bust, also there may have been monies outstanding, so they may not play ball.

It's a simple enough job, to change over the unit, get on to a local glazier.

First however look up your home insurance, you may have Glass Breakage Cover, if so the Insurance Co should arrange it for you, works the same as Windscreen Cover, i.e they pay the Glazier direct.
