    Hi,
Looking for advice hubby got re employed last month from a company that let him go in dec, anyway he has been emergency taxed for the past 4 weeks he rang the revenue and they are sending on a cert to be handed in, in work, my question is how does he get refunded this overtax? Is it through the companies accounts department? Btw he handed his particulars in the week before he started so I would have thought there was no need for emergency tax & with him being previously employed?

As soon as revenue is notified of his new employment they send out tax credit cert to his employer who inputs details into payroll system, then refunds any tax that was overpaid.
