This has not gone through that discount site yet. End price isn't a massive concern once it's not ridiculous. I'd be happy to go with what I have below so +- a couple hundred is ok.

It's power will be used, a lot. I have a triple monitor set up and do eyefinity, single and multibox gaming as well as recording/streaming. (Common situation might be 3box WoW with Diablo and EVE at the same time.)

At the same time I want to try to keep this as quiet as possible. At the moment the only thing that really makes noise in my current machine is a single fan cooled 7870. I'm hoping the Tri-X will help there.

I'd love some input please. :D

    Item|Price
Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 120GB SATA 6Gb/s|€69.77
    Intel Core i7-4790 Tray|€264.14
    Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC, 4GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, full retail|€379.79
    Corsair Hydro Series H100i|€99.90
Corsair Carbide Series 500R schwarz, ATX, ohne Netzteil|€103.94
    16GB-Kit G.Skill Sniper PC3-14900U CL9-10-9-28|€142.39
Corsair Enthusiast Series RM650, Modular, 80 Plus Gold 650 Watt|€98.20
    ASRock Z97 Pro4, Sockel 1150, ATX|€95.06
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€1270.40

    - 4790 will be replaced with a 4790k, I'm waiting on that arriving on HWVS in the next week or so. OC has them up at £260 preorder so hoping HWVS does it magic and get it at 300-320ish.

    - I already have a 500r and really like it. A alternative suggestion would be great that is comparable to it.

    - I'm a bit sketchy with PSUs. Spec sheet says 750W but will the gold make the 650 ok?

    - I already have a Asrock MB so know it back to front, I like the Pro4 layout but again suggestions would be nice.

    - The H100i, I've tried to do a lot of research on this part. Was leaning towards a Eisberg 240L for a long time. I'm looking for a near silent solution at the end of the day with good temps.

    - The GPU, I like AMDs but if you have a good reason with proof to go nvidia for around that same price I will listen. From what I have researched it's not going to be very noisey.

    - Don't worry about storage, I have that covered from my current machine.

Nothing much to say you seem to have done your homework all the parts are good.

    Cheers!
Ya, it's all gone through as many discounts as I could get.
Just wanted to keep track of it. My last rig is up here somewhere as well and it's always nice to have somewhere to double check against.

This is my plan so far for cooling.
Idea is to have everything super low speed.
Positive air pressure as my room is pretty dusty.
Still unsure if the radiator is going to be push or pull at the top or if I am going to be able to actually get 2 more fans on to it. Depends on the RAM height.
I'd like it to be at least pull with the rad inside the case and the fans in the compartment on top.
Will need to get some type of fine filter to the window fans though.
Anyone know anything about that sort of stuff?

Are the two on the side not going to be a waste?

The PC is in the sitting room pretty much beside the TV so I want to get the fan speed down as low as possible to keep it quiet.
Which I hope will happen due to how much air can go through here.
The fan at the bottom is probably going to be the one that gets removed in the end.
On the stock case the side panel is one massive fan but decided to change over to 2 good ones instead.

The Corsair H100i isn't quiet in case you think it is. In fact at the upper performance levels, without headphones some find it intolerable. If you want to keep noise to a minimum then why don't you go with fan cooling. For the price you would spend on a H100i you could pick up the new king of fan cooling - Noctua NH-D15.

Not only does it give the top AIO coolers a run for their money, but it is way, way quieter. I picked up one a few weeks ago, when I replaced a faulty Kraken X60. It is so quiet that when I come back to my PC, I often look through the side window to see that it is actually still on, it is that quiet.

Thanks for the info. I am replacing the fans on it with Noctua NF-P12's which should bring it in line. I've spent the last 2 months researching as much as I can about it so hopefully it should work out.

My fallback is that I know I can pass it on to a mate if it's really not fitting in with the noise consideration.

That does seem to be an amazing air cooler and thankfully for me I have found many posts about the h100i being quiet once you change out the stock fans.

Guess I will find out next week when the parts arrive. :d
