I need to travel with my partner to Glasgow (mid-week) sometime soon...does anyone have any cheap flight suggestions? As usual, all the
'special offers' from the budget airlines end up fairly expensive after additions.
I'd happily consider another airport and fly/drive if need be....

What additions are expensive and unavoidable?

If Edinburgh is cheaper (unusual) fly there. Newcastle might also be an option, but you have to add up the additional time to get to your final destination, also obviously try flights from Shannon or Dublin (or even Knock).

An email I got from Ryanair has flights from Dublin to Glasgow (Prestwick) for €14.99 on 2 July, coming back the Monday means a return for €48, can't argue with that.

Ryanair are consistently dirt cheap for flights to Glasgow and Edinburgh, standard price is usually €15 each way if you're flexible, mid-week is normally always that price too if you book about a month in advance. I did Edinburgh Friday - Monday recently for €30 return, no extras, hidden fees etc. This was flying from Dublin mind, so I dunno if prices tend to be that good from Cork.

I'm also from cork and my brother lives in Glasgow, What I tend to do is get the aircoach from the city straight to dublin airport costs around €15 and then the flights from Ryanair to Glasgow from Dublin, last trip cost 19.99 so was 34,99 in all.

The only airline that flies from Cork to Glasgow is Aer Lingus. The cheapest return I can see in a months time is 90e.

You would certainly get a cheaper fare from Dublin but that has the downside of having to travel to Dublin, parking etc etc.
