Android Device Manager - avoid wiping my Nexus 5

    HI folks,

I was at at wedding last weekend and lost my Nexus 5. After a couple of days of contacting venue, taxis etc I used 'Android Device Manager' to erase the phone. This will happen the next time the phone goes online and is supposed to be irreversible.

Of course I hear later that day that someone took the phone home by accident and I should get it back tomorrow.

Just wondering if there is much I can do to save my phone content and avoid going back to a factory reset?

The phone is rooted and I'm thinking once it's powered up I'll do a full Titanium Backup em. backup. From experience with former phones this won't back everything up. I would like to do a nandroid backup but can anyone recommend an app that can do this via a cable? Obviously would have to sideload the app as going online isn't an option.

Flash TWRP as your recovery (flash the img from fastboot), do a full backup, mount your phone as USB mass storage from within TWRP, transfer the nandroid out.

Then boot up your phone, let it wipe itself, go back into recovery, transfer over your backup and restore it.

Sound, I think I have TWRP already. I'll give that a go.

ClockWorkMod + full low level backup.

    Got the phone back.
    Did a TRWP backup.
Went online - phone wasn't wiped.
Inserted new sim - phone not wiped.

I'm a little dissappointed to be honest. Would it have wiped if it was stolen?
