Hi, I need oil and just wondering can I buy it in the likes of Tesco or somewhere cheap? The last time I bought it in a garage and it was about €12. Thanks

Use a decent 5W-30 full-synthetic like Castrol Edge or Mobil 1 ESP. Stay away from Tesco crap. That's a foodmarket.

Think it was Castrol I got before. Just thought I could do it on the cheap! Thanks for reply.

I'm assuming it's the 1.2 petrol you have, yeah?

    It's a 1.4 petrol auto

Same for them. That oil is expensive enough.

Halfords has a nice selection of motor oil

Mmm. They tend to have a budget, middling and premium offering for most oil types. Or, in Halfords-speak, expensive, shocking dear, and OhmyfcukinGaaawwd!! I'd go to a local motor-factors if I was watching the shillin's. :D

The last time I went to Halfords to buy it I ended up walking out as I couldn't get help from anyone so won't go back there. At the risk of sounding like a total dope - what's a motor factors? I was just going to go to local petrol station

A motor factors is a store that specialises in car parts, accessories, oil, etc.

Nailed it, sticker shock mega in Halfords. I remember a 4 liter container of oil was 50 euro … Yikes
Its only 10 Euro in the US. Now that’s some serious sticker shock

Some full-synths are properly expensive, but you can do a lot better price-wise in a motor-factors. Gas stations are another hold-up merchant! :D

When you’re drivin the big yank V8 that will easily gobble up 8 liters during an oil change it really puts things in perspective. When I move to Ireland im getting me a 1 liter Hyundai
