Can some of the more mechanical minded people help Trying to sort my gears out on the bike The gears are not changing smoothly at all anymore and chain won't drop into the bottom ring,had a look on the interweb and been tinkering but I think I have made it worse I've loosened the limit screw but that's nearly completely…

The gears are not changing smoothly at all anymore and chain won't drop into the bottom ring,had a look on the interweb and been tinkering but I think I have made it worse
I've loosened the limit screw but that's nearly completely out and has stop moving the deraileur
I've tried the barrel adjuster and that's now tight as it will go
Do I need to disconnect the cable completely ?
