AVG 2014 Free for limited time

AVG do a free version but this is their full product which normally sells at £54.99

    Terms and Conditions

This is a 1-computer 1-year license, for home use
You get free database and minor program updates for one year
    No free tech support
Must be downloaded, installed, and registered before this offer is over
    May not be resold
No refunds and exchanges; if you are having trouble activating or registering, please ask for help

    http://sharewareonsale.com/s/free-avg-internet-security-2014-54-99-value#4TWzrEwIbdMvqBvD.99

    Some points to note:

Before we tell you how to get this freebie, please take note the terms and conditions of this specific giveaway dictate you must download, install, register, and activate before this offer is over.

Furthermore, please take note this freebie is really a 365 day extended trial of AVG Internet Security 2014 instead of an actual one year license. In terms of features and protections, there are no differences between a trial and a real license — you get all the same features, updates, and protection. The difference arises in who can install it. If you have used AVG Internet Security in the past, then you might not be able to install an extended trial and thus won’t be able to get this freebie. (If you haven’t used AVG Internet Security in the past, then you can get this freebie.)

Delete it and try running ccleaner.

If it works, grand. If not, stick the free one back on.

Maybe try to uninstall your current version and download this one with a different e-mail address, seems to have worked for me

get one of the free uninstallers and remove the antivirus freeware with it, they give two options, use the forced one, download a new web browser, do not import any favourites, apply on that one, this works with some stuff, so no garuntee it will work with this offer, worth a try at least.

Well I uninstalled the free one I had, and reinstalled the new one and it comes up and shows I have 317 days left before expiration !!! Think it deducted the days I've already used but has extended it !! ?

Got this last year and I think I've <150 days left.

Think it'd be worth uninstalling it to see if I can get another year?

Agree with you, had it previously and had my computer locked be the virus. Had to get Kaspersky to remove it, cos AVG was not able to. And as you said free is free and can`t complain about it.

Might want to check AV Test to compare current Anti Virus programs. (Free & Paid).

AVG is ok, but I switched from that to Panda Cloud. Thanks for the heads up OP!

I have always used MS security essentials and shocked to see how bad it is in the review. Having said that, its the only product I have found that isn't a pain to use

I used to swear by that program myself until MS came out and basically discredited it! (googles)

    Ah, in this article.

AV Test use it as a baseline.

I always go for something that has a high all round statistic. Bitdefender & Avira seems to do well from this list.

It was a time limited offer - you had to install and activate it pretty much that day.

AVG is crap and bloated, for a much better AV get Norton Internet Security (not their bloated full package), you can get a serial on Ebay for about 12-15 quid. It has a very good family filter if you have young children, completely control usage and what sites your children visit
