As well as the huge coverage of the World Cup on RTE Two, there will be a few of the same old, same old programmes on RTE One as in Saturday Night with Miriam, Kitchen Hero with Donal Skehan and the Rose of Tralee with Daíthí O'Se.

Callan's Kicks will return for the summer as well.

The National Lottery will not show the new Money Spinner game show on RTE because it is online only (via Youtube and Lottery.ie).

Plus a few other RTE style human interest programmes to boot.

Nothing to exciting there but then there never is in the summer.

I can't imagine that their main audience will be watching so.

Seems the whole year has become summer on RTÉ. Good to see the Lotto games ditched.

You must be young Elmo, Summer on RTE might not be great but it's better than what was on most of the 80's. Summer Started around Easter and Most of RTE seemed to go on Holiday until October 1st.

5.30 Start time on RTE 1 was not unheard of. Unless there was sport on, it was Testcard all day on RTE 1 and RTE 2. Lets not even start on about the News reducing to 20 minutes at 6 and at 9 and The late night News on RTE2 switching to headlines only for 5 or so months.

So when I see what RTE offer now, I think...and wish the testcard would return:D

RTE have thought of that. On Saorview they have a selection of SIX test cards for your delectation. Try channel 11 (SD); 12 (HD); 13 (SD); 14(HD); 15(SD); or 17(SD).

Ch 14 has Lyric sound trac and 15 has RnaG.

Ch 12 is just colour bars, the other are SD resolution cards.

    Enjoy

I think it is not a clock you need but a calendar.

I think it is not a clock you need but a calendar.

A countdown to UTV Ireland/the end of the world.
