Is there a service which lists the local bylaws for a town/area. Looking for Cavan. Google doesn’t help.

    Thanks

Pretty sure the OP was talking about the Cavan in Ulster, not Ontario province...

Yes it was Ulster I meant.

I was amazed to find the Candian connection, it was a minute or so before I twigged !!

Council websites will have some of the recent ones. For historical, but current ones, the council's law agent might be the best option.

    Oh We Know!

    Slightly O/T
What bodies can make byelaws which are undemocratic/unelected?
I know CIÉ and their subsidiaries
    DAA
    NRA

RPA may be able to make byelaws

Port companies; usually owned by local authorithies

    Who else?

Thanks for your input, I had picked up the limited number of by-laws from the CavanCoCo website but nothing relevant. The council's law agent will be my next try. I was hoping for a list as I don’t know what will be relevant unless I see its title, if that makes sense!

You could try asking the Attorney General's office,
They have electronic copies of old statutes, even the brits no longer keep online, so they might have byelaws, or know how to get them.

The Corporate Affairs section in the County COuncil should have that info.

Town CLerks had it for their urban areas, but I presume they have been also abolished by the recent "reforms"
