    Hi,

I've quit smoking again! Just wondering if there are any ex smokers about who noticed an improvement in their skin and it anything particular was done to speed up the recovery of skin after smoking?

You could treat yourself to a course of facials and keep up a good homecare plan of double cleansing, toning, serums, oils, masks etc.

I gave up 2 1/2 years ago (I'm 36 now) and I did see an improvement in my skin fairly quickly, mainly that it was brighter and less dull than before. I did change to more expensive brands of skin care around the same time (as I was saving money by not smoking) I have to admit that my skin was one of the reasons that I gave up (along with the obvious health and money reasons!). I didn't want any fine lines to develop into full on wrinkles, and they haven't (yet)!

I gave up at 25 and found my skin was more even toned and my dark circles weren't quite as severe. Hadn't really started to line then though, which unfortunately seems to be starting now!

My husbands granny gave up smoking at 83 and her skin looks fantastic since. So if it works for an old woman who has smoked for 70+ years it'll work for a young wan!

I gave up 10 years ago and thankfully I think I avoided causing any lasting damage. I think other people are more likely to notice the change rather tha you seeing it yourself.

I gave up just over 3 weeks ago; within 10 days or so i had a few spots (toxins clearing out maybe?), but now my skin looks a bit brighter and doesn't feel as dry :)

Always wear a facial sun screen
Used a moisturizing face mask 1-2 times a week , Origins do a good one you sleep in , its amazing!
If you have pigmentation then a specialized brand like NeoStarata would be worth investing in, I don't know where you are based but I know they sell in in Chapelizod pharmacy and the girls are very knowledgeable.
And the most obvious one drink enough water .

Thanks for all the replies! I've yet to see an improvement in my skin but my teeth are definitely whiter. Yay!
