local needs question - boyfriend owns apartment

    Hi,

I've resigned myself to a long wait to fulfill local needs employment conditions - but want to know how my chances would be affected if my boyfriend bought an apartment in his name this year, and then I applied for planning permission in my own name in a few years' time.

Would it make any difference if we were married? (Can you still claim to need a house if your husband owns one...?)

if the "applicant" doesn't own a house, then they don't own a house.

Myself and my boyfriend were granted planning on land gifted by my dad and I already own an apartment. I sent in a letter stating that the apartment now didn't meet our needs to raise a family and I can't sell because of negative equity.

Thanks for the replies - bee06. I know there'd be no chance in our area if apartment was in my name - super strict 'high amenity area' conditions. But definitely will look into the option of the boyfriend buying!
