Avensis D4D Heating Issue

    Hi All,

Have a 2008 Toyota Avensis D4D and am experiencing an issue with the heating system. Not sure when it started as haven't needed the heating in a couple of weeks but when I put the heat on last night, all I was getting was cold air. This was regardless of temp setting, air-conditioning on/off etc.

Any ideas on what might cause this? On the road this week so will take it into the garage at some stage next week.

Read somewhere about this being indicative of possible issues with HG but engine coolant level is fine.

    Regards,
    Paul

It could be as simple as failure/seizure of a motorized valve controlling the hot air mixture, or it could be a blockage or failure of the heater matrix, which is like a small radiator in behind the dash. That latter is a proper dose. I had a similar symptom in a Jag a couple of years ago, and it turned out to be a five-way motorized valve that I was able to get from the Ford/Motorcraft parts-bin in the U.S. for about €100.

Thanks for that. I'll take it into the garage to have it looked at.
