Job Seekers Allowance

Hi, I know the amount of savings you can have before you lose money claiming job seekers allowance is €20,000. But does anyone know if they would check savings you have in your childrens accounts? We have some money put aside for college fees for our kids - about €5000 and these are in savings accounts in the childrens names. Do you think they would want to see these accounts and we could lose benefit because of this money?

I would be grateful if anyone has been in this situation before,

    Thanks

    Sarah.
