My friend and I was heading towards the bus stop on the Dublin Road in Limerick just up from the Groody Roundabout last night. It was to catch the 11 pm 304 bus from the university.

We were about 10 metres from the bus stop and the bus was driving quickly down the road. We waved at the driver for him to stop and he ignored us and drove by. Seems that the driver just wanted to finish his shift and not bother picking up potential passengers.

Has this happened to anybody else and have you reported this to Bus Eireann?

No. Bus Eireann can refuse to entertain a complaint based on this. Maybe if ur friend was 5 metres away but I'm more being generou here.

Notorious on that route at that time of night- but usually during the semester when most people getting the bus have had a few drinks!!

It happened me 2 weeks ago in Milltown Co Galway, he was early, (bout 4 mins) i was approaching the bus stop - he got there first and drove on, despite me waving my return ticket like a looney in the middle of the road...

PMSL today, the bus was due at 15:36 .... he drove in to the bus stop really slow - not a bother on him at 16:09 - I asked him was he the 15:36, he laughed out loud , 'jesus i dunno, must be'...

Argggghhhhhh. public transport in this country is an absolute joke !!!!!!!!!

Some BE drivers are A1 and some are complete ars*s who seem to think having passengers on board is a major inconvenience.
