2004 Lancer startup issue

    I have the above car and it has an annoying problem. It doesnt start when i turn the key. I always have to take the key back out and try it again. Sometimes i have to do that numerous times.

    Its not a starter issue. Its not a coil issue. Its not a fuel pump issue.

    as far as i can tell its something to do with the immobiliser


    anyone come across this before??

    So the starter turns but the engine doesn't catch?

    No. Nothing happens, like its the starter. But if i cycle the key it starts, sometimes i have to take the key out and try it again. The odd time it starts first time

    Could be the ignition barrell or ignition switch
