moving to new zealand

Hi all, my wife and I have been thinking of moving to new zealand with our child. We were there as backpackers in 2008 and loved it. I have a trade in carpentry/cabinet making and want to work at it again. Just wanted to know if anyone on here has done the move and how easy and expensive is it.
