    Hey,

I've been on BTEA this past year while at college and I'd applied for JSA for over the Summer. Today was my first sign on day which I did. I was told from next week on the money will be going to the local post office but I'll be away from 10-17th of June so I'll be unable to pick up the money next week. Will they keep the money until I'm back to pick it up or will I miss out on a weeks payment?

    Thanks.

Go in and get a form to fill out. You can take 2 weeks holidays a year once you give notice. The money should be in the post office the following week.

    Thanks for the help.

Edit- Tried to fill out the online form there and as I'm going in 7 days it won't let me complete the form as it says I need to give at least 10 days notice. Will this still be the case if I call into the welfare office tomorrow?

I actually took a week last year which was the first week I would've been getting paid. I gave 5 days' notice I think and when I got back the money wasn't in the post office but it took 2 minutes to sort out. Once you've already had one payment the "hold" should carry on.
They didn't seem worried last year about notice to be honest. I think you're in the same town as me and I've not found them to be awkward for the sake of it when switching to/from BTEA and that.

Next week will be my first week getting paid into the post office and it's the one week I'm away. Typical! Anyway, I'll call into the office tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks again.

Yeah be grand, might involve a quick trip in again when you're back but if it is it's just a matter of them removing the hold on it.
