Just wondering has anyone had any dealings with the above garage based in Ballymount in Dublin? Are they to be recommended for dealing with?

They are down the road from me.
Nice guys (they referred me to a good mechanic a couple of years ago when I broke down outside their lot), however as I live near them I see the transporters when they acquire new stock. Pretty much all UK, ex auction lots.

Would not have a problem dealing with them but would check service history etc before buying (standard for all purchases but especially for ex-UK)

Buyer beware! Like the purchase of any motor car, get the car checked by a qualified mechanic and make sure the paper work is fully checked out.

These guys may be the best in the business. They are also in the Bermuda Triangle!

When buying a car from any second hand car lot , have your wits about you, look out for the cowboys wearing cheap shiny suits and gel in the hair munching on their chips in the porta cabin, sorry , office!

Do not get taken in by sales gibberish which car sales monkeys are great at spouting , they are not so good at speaking nor understanding English.

So get someone to check the car on your behalf, take what you are told by the sales monkey with a grain of salt, read and cross check all the paperwork and Cartell. Negotiate a good price a new NCT and a good warranty.

Do not let your heart rule your head, if there are doubts , walk away, there are plenty more cars out there.

    Buyer beware in all transactions.!!!!

    'Bermuda Triangle' I like that!!
The garages that operate on the Turnpike Road and around the Naas Road seek to be the most unlucky garages in Ireland. Every six months or so they seem to close down and a new garage opens up within a few days or weeks, usually with the same stock....
either way if you intend to buy then have the car independently checked by a mechanic or the AA. If a warranty is offered ensure it's with a third party warranty supplier and contact them separately from the garage and ensure the warranty is in place anf confirm what is covered. Good luck.

Blue gate are good operators and a subsidiary of two big franchise garages nearby, selling German product new.

as for the Bermuda Triangle theory, a huge proportion of used cars in Ireland get sold in that general area,it being convenient to city and country users from n11, n7, n4 n3, M50, in fact I'd say there's 10,000 cars for sale within a radius of 3 miles so putting someone off a car just because it's being sold in a certain area is a bit childish. IMHO
