Bus Eireann Nightrider - Edenderry/Enfield

    Howdy,

With the new road linking Edenderry and Enfield up and running, I was wondering what boardsies would think about a new Nightrider service from Dublin to one of the towns via the other.

Out of service route 120 buses use the new road to get too and from Dublin a lot, so I thought it might be a good way of getting the Nightrider back to the Enfield area from an economic standpoint, which is apparently why the Mullingar one was axed.

Seems like a good idea - can't do any harm to suggest it to Bus Éireann:

    E-mail: info[AT]buseireann.ie

or write to Bus Éireann, Broadstone, Dublin 7.

Freepost comment/feedback cards are often available at Busáras in the leaflet/timetable carousels.

Not really much demand for it if the last bus is anything to go on. usually empty by the time it hits Clane/Plosperous.

If they advertised it properly and combined both routes I could see it working

I couldn't see it making any money which it would have to do.

I sent in an email before making the thread, so hopefully they will get back soon.

From what I can tell, the main question of loadings would depend a lot on whether the route goes through Kilcock, Enfield and into Edenderry or through the 120 routing and then into Enfield.

The former could work nicely with coach placement for Edenderry in the morning but the latter could serve more towns.

I guess a sharing/co-op arrangement on the the Dublin Bus Nitelink to Maynooth wouldn't happen but could help BE justify a Nightrider - Higher ticket cost for direct service. That could suit an Edenderry double decker well.
