What degree to wash sheets ?

    My mam wreckings 40 for everything but should underwear and bed sheets be washed at 90 degrees to kill off bacteria thats what ol relieble google says but just want to get the peoples opinion

    Unless you've got some kind of unusual communicative disease or you're washing hospital linen, 40°C cotton cycle is plenty.

    You'll wreck underwear at 90°C!!

    Very high temp was used in the past to activate the peroxide bleach in washing powder. The modern versions work with enzymes that are most effective at 30 to 40C.

    Main thing is to use the right amount of detergent and don't do everything on quick wash!
