Do I need to spray again?

Grass destruction prior to reseeding, think I have a problem.

Used Rosate 36 with some Torpedo sticker on the 27th, 10' boom sprayer with the 55 litre quad tank. Best I could stuck to around 4kph.

In fairness there wasn't much leaf cover, maybe that's having a negative effect?

I did make one mistake, that the sprayer was set too high up, about the height of the carrier on the back of the quad. It's supposed to be half that height  But it was a windless day.

I had expected it to be more yellow by now, first time killing grass, do I need to go in again or wait another few days?

Few photos, obviously green areas to left side of fallen walls weren't sprayed to give an idea. Close up is a spot picked at random that was sprayed, left that photo large to zoom in.

Id say its dying alright . Only thing I could say is could you have got the sheep to clip it a bit tighter in the close up picture ? Even though it does look short enough in the other pics

Not much point killing grass that's already dead Con. If it's yellow it's dead.
For round up to work well you need leaf and growth.
I don't bother with adjuvants or ph rectifiers, spend the money on the glyphosate
and if you really need an adjuvant quarter pint of diesel per acre works fine. Squirt of washing up liquid is good also but can lead to excessive foaming.

I suppose it's such a small amount/concentration but many of the electric pumps that are fitted to the quads wouldn't have the right type of rubber seals or diaphragms fitted to handle diesel..

Patience. You won't know that field in another week. Are you fencing it first?

Ideally I would have sprayed middle of April or so, but I had neither the weather nor the time (often windy - or wet - by sea here and that part of the farm is well exposed to South and West). So it was well clipped down but the longer things took the more the grass grew.

Feck all leaf on some of it, I wasn't going manuring it to kill it :D Have used wash up liquid before and found it good. I won't use diesel, had a friend do that and it buggered all his seals.

It's barely a week yet! Give it some time, it deffinitly is dying anyways, it goes to the root and works its way up, unlike other sprays that kill on the way down.

Agree its surprising how quick it will die from this stage, often look out at sprayed field going is it working then suddenly its gone bright yellow.

Mostly orange :) Still waiting on a guy to make me a roller before I can proceed further.

If using a chain harrow to scratch up try to leave as long as possible . try to leave tatch to decay. I would even spread lime/granlime. If you spread Granlime only spread 1/2 bag/acre at this stage. It might 3-5 weeks for dead material to really break up. try to get it grazed down.

if it starts to green up again spray with 1/2L/HA leave for 3-4 days before reseeding.

Remember that this reseed may last 20 years.
