Had to laugh at these. Seen another there today for the Astra, Claudia Schiffer declaring it's a "German" (so therefore never breaks down LOL).
Let's see how true this all is...
Opel/GM build most of their Astras in England/Poland.
The Mokka is Korean. The Corsa built in Spain as is the Meriva.

It's just the Insignia, Zafira and Adam that are now actually built in the Fatherland anymore. I really think this marketing as "German" is leading them down a blind alley. VW got there first, decades ago. Now Opel are deciding to exploit this perception.

    Very annoying ad.

This whole "wir German all of a sudden" thing is a bit sad.

Calling an Opel German is like calling a Skoda Czech! :pac:

I can just picture a brit celeb, in an ad for Vauxhall. "Vauxhall, the pinnacle of British engineering!"
    LOL!

I can't stand those ads and not withstanding the fact that many of their cars are made elsewhere, opel in my view are certainly only average in the build and mechanical departments. They are defiantly not the pinnical of German engineering IMO, far from it.

Absolutely. I put them in the same category as Fords and VAGs. Ok as runabouts or family cars, some are even half decent to drive. But thats where it ends.
