Milan / Bergamo / Lake Como

I am going to a wedding in Italy this summer and am staying on for three nights after all the festivities. We have three nights and will be flying out of Bergamo. Originally we had planned on staying in Milan for the three nights but have heard from people that one night/day would probably be enough to see the sights. I am now thinking of Lake Como or Bergamo for a couple of nights. Does anybody have any recommendations? We are looking to relax, nice food and a few drinks.

Stayed in my friends place for a few days in Como last month. Great spot, so relaxing and picturesque. I'd imagine it to be more touristy now with being smack bang in the summer but I couldn't recommend it enough. And if you want to get to Milan for a day trip the trains are pretty inexpensive and takes less then an hour.

Yep, it's stunningly beautiful. I think you'll enjoy staying in any town around the lake. We stayed in Bellagio for a couple of nights. We felt a bit like peasants living on millionaire's row! It is where the very affluent people stay. Como itself is a lovely spot. Nice restaurants and a bit more reasonable.

Lake Como is lovely, bellagio especially. We just spent last 2 days in stresa on lake maggiore about 45 minutes by train from Milan. Really nice with some stunning scenery which is best viewed by taking cable car at the end of town.

The old town in Bergamo is also worth a visit.
