    Hi

Have searched on line to no avail.

Can a ride recorded on the Garmin 500 be retrieved if the battery dies during the ride?

The device is now recharged but the ride is missing.

That's weird, my 800 has a died a couple of times and the ride was there up to the point that the battery went off.

Sure, just give a call to the U.S. Department of Defense :D

I've a 500 that has ran dead during a couple of cycles and as Astra said I could get the ride detail up to the point where it went dead.

I have got my ride from edge 500 a few times after battery died. It happened yesterday morning, it was 25 % when starting and I think about 90 minutes before warning came on for 10%. only took a few minute to turn off then. I logged the rest of ride with mapmyride on my phone from that point. I will in future stop and save the ride on the garmin at 10% point as its only a few minutes from dead at that stage anyways.

Link it up to a PC and browse to the Activities folder on the device. There should be a xxxxx.fit file there with the date (and time?) of the ride in some form or other ie: the xxxxxx bit. Its there if its there......:(
