Near Harold's Cross, the main ones I can think of are LCC in Rathmines (across the road from Lidl), Mt. Pleasant in Ranelagh, Rathgar (behind the AIB), Ashbrook (off the Rathgar road), and Terenure (the old CYM club). The best way to get an idea of the standards/age profiles would be to go down to them on their club nights and have a chat. No harm in paying them all a visit before selecting one to join.

They are pretty much the clubs to choose from. Not sure if you have a budget though since some are more expensive than others. Im not a member of any of them but I do know Mt P would have the largest membership numbers so I guess greater chance of more people in your age group

From playing Dublin league and tournaments I thought mount Pleasant to be the best of the ones mentioned above. Nice club house, car park, plenty of courts 12 courts I think. But as has been said above visit all of them and get a feel for them and join the one you like best.

It really depends on what you want? Currently I am considering moving clubs to a bigger one to play more people at a higher standard.

Mount Pleasant in ranelagh is your best bet. Go to the website and click on try before you buy. This gives you a pass to their Fri night social mixed doubles. They have 3 sections..so you can ask to be put into section c if youre rusty. Emphasis is just on enjoyment. Then they have pizza and a social drink in the bar.If you like the vibe you can enquire about joining. Also check out their facebook page. They have an open tournament coming up which means anyone can go down and play for the afternoon and join in the socialising afterwards.. Its about 384 euro to join, but no joining fee and as they say you get what you pay for...they also have new members afternoons where you get to meet the committee and other newbies. All in all a great idea to join this club...,And no, I'm not a current member looking for business. I was once though and would highly recommend it from personal experience.

This is exactly what you get in Mt P probably worth a go since you are looking for social tennis since the majority of players in the club are just social players. Enjoy

That's absolutely not true!!! There are premier and class 1/2 players in the club and a huge amount of class 3/4/5 players. There is huge competition for places on league teams and Mt P is represented in every interclub league throughout the year. There is something for everyone in Mt P, whether you're looking for competition or social tennis.

And I have to say in one of the nicest locations as well. Probably the nicest location to play tennis. Great club house with a fantastic viewing area over all the courts.
