Camera or camcorder for portfolio shots

    Hi all.
I'm a stay-at-home TV/crossdresser who enjoys taking pictures of herself (about all I can do) and am looking for a decent camera that will
    a) give me clear, high-res shots
    b) allow me to either take shots in sequence on its own or via an intervalometer or shutter release remote

    OR

a camcorder whose recorded output will give me decent, photo-quality screengrabs.

I realise in order to get this sort of performance I can forget about compact cameras and must go down the DSLR route, but they can be very expensive so I need to know if anyone has information on what DSLR camera(s) would be good for this but not cost the Earth (say max 450 Euro or so)

I currently have a Sony DCR-SR37 Handycam which is, to be fair to it, sh1t, and also a Canon Ixus 1000 HS, which takes good pictures but only one at a time. Its video quality is terrible.

An odd request maybe but what the hell? Someone may take pity on me....

    Thanks for any replies.
    Kelly

Check out MPB photographics. They sell second hand dslr's that may do what you want. Just beware that their prices are not much short of new. Do some research into a camera that suits and see if you can get one on done deal etc.

Thanks for that. Their prices look good until you realise that's camera only, no lens.

    But thanks for the reply.

    whats your budget?

Id recommend a second hand Nikon D90 with kit lens. Its a great camera, the secondhand prices make it a steal and it does HD video and rapid (enough for your purposes) shots in a row.
