Or depreciation thread if you like..;)

Just seen an hour long program on ITV dedicated to Michael Flatley and Irish dancing. The guy is phenomenal:eek:

I think Ireland owes him and everyone behind Riverdance etc big time even though they have made truck loads of money.

Great advertisment for Ireland and way better than the days of Bertie and Cowan going around the world with pints in their hands.

He did 35 taps in 1 second incidentally. Now he's just showing off:p

I believe he's famous for his flute as well.

I have modeled my hairstyle and life on Mick Flatley's example.

    His friends call him Mick.

    And his massive horn.

His detractors take the Mick too. As well as his prowess with the flute, I believe he used to be well able to box. A dancer with ability to box, flute and tap was always going to be big - he's some man. He no longer has that massive horn though - I heard that was stroked?

He gets his horn from Rhinos which i'm fairly sure is illegal but not for Mick.

Mick has a huge rhino farm in Roscommon.

You can visit and rub the horns for luck!

It was an old horn though - you can have an old horn, no problem. Mick used to love his old horn. I think I read somwhere a lot of the dancers saw his horn and said it was very impressive. After he got married he hung it up and didn't show it in public anymore. I could be wrong about that though. Nice house but, very impressive. Fully restored.

I've always the finale, when he goes gliding off the stage and then him and Butler; they come racing back in to spin. Goosebumps.

    At 2:30 and 3:08

Butler never seemed like she was having the greatest time until Colin Dunne:

They have a lot to answer for the Irish Primary schools dancing craze of the 90's.
