    Hi everyone.
My girlfriends brother bought a phone on her behalf in Australia.
The battery is now draining very rapidly, it hasn't started to swell yet though
Is there anywhere local I can bring the phone to find out about a replacement without sending it back to Australia?
    Thanks.
    Chris

I'd say you'll just have to buy a new battery, unless someone's happens to be going back to Australia who could do something with it for you down there.

You'll get a replacement on amazonDOTcoDOTuk for about a tenner for a Samsung part, for a bit more, you could get one by the likes of Anker or RAVPower.

    Thanks for that.
Would you recommend the aftermarket battery's over stock?

Don't have an S4 myself, so no direct experience on the basis of which to recommend one way or another. But some of the aftermarket ones get pretty good reviews from purchasers on amazon. If you were thinking of an expanded battery rather than a like-for-like replacement, then aftermarket is your only option, unlike with the S3.

I would be surprised if it didn't have an international warranty.

I have an S3 Mini that was overheating. I bought it in Ireland, got it repaired in the UK - no problems at all. Motherboard needed replacing.

I'd say it's worth checking the warranty / getting on to Samsung about it.

Recent issue? Since an update? Could be software related.

Know anyone else with an S4 that you can swap batteries with for half an hour to test?

    I hadn't considered that!
I'll give that a go if I can get a lend of one.

Found out its not the battery that is at fault.
The wireless is draining the battery.
It only started after upgrading to KitKat.
So now I have to either try to downgrade to jellybean or stick a custom firmware on.
    Thanks for the help!
