Does anyone know how much of an impact on the price of your car insurance it makes when you have 2 points on your licence (for speeding)? OH thinks it only impacts if you have 4 or more but I'm not so sure.

2 points shouldnt make any difference, but you must declare them

I just got my renewal so was getting quotes online and did one with points and one without and there was about €70 in the difference so I was surprised, I will phone my own insurers on Tuesday and hopefully won't make a difference thanks!

Best price around but it's not unusual to see a small loading.

    Depends on the insurer.

Depands on the insurer. One of them at least (FBD I think?) offer a discount for having no points so you would lose that if you had it. Generally speaking though 2 points means nothing to insurers.

I renewed my insurance recently and 2 points were jumping up the price on most I tried,
Even in my brokers office they were a bit surprised.

My penalty points discount went from 33% to 17% when I got 2 points. This was Aviva.
