Finished BTEA - to jobseekers?

I'm finished my degree next week, and was due to start a job the week after next. The company got on to me and said that there is a mix up and that training for the position has been pushed until the middle of July!

I've been on BTEA so when I was home in April I brought in my letter from Uni with my final date, but I never filled in the application form for jobseekers and I told the lady I had a job sorted!! I've never had to claim jobseekers during the summer as I had always got a summer job, so I want to know how long it takes to change over?

I will ring the office on Tuesday to ask what to do, but as I will only be home on Friday 06/05 to fill out any new information, do you think it will be a matter of weeks before I get changed over or months? I have to move to another city for my new job in July so I will need money to get myself sorted!

we didn't fill out the form either as we presumed he would be employed by now, but we just called out with the form and id last Wednesday and the jsa will be in the post office Tuesday.

Thanks, well that's good to hear, hopefully my local office will be the same. I'm really angry at my new employers because they waited until the last minute to leave me in limbo. Bad start to being a new graduate.
