There's a car to trade, a couple of dealers have valued at approx. 8k recently.

looking to put between anything up to say 5k with that. something "up in the years" 07 or newer, just for the sake of buying in a dealer (for trade in) and it being a relatively fresh car.

something sporty or entertaining to drive, good looking but still sensible and daily drivable, so ideally nothing much more than a 2 litre. also nothing that is known to be plagued with faults.

lusted over a golf gti there for a while. reckon the budget could stretch to a 2011 honda cr-z but i don't know much about them. would like to stay away from diesel but i reckon it could be justified. doesn't need to be practical, can be a coupe etc.

don't really know what's out there, so looking for suggestions tbh.

edit: not for me, personally. a family member.
