Search for a handbag

Hey Guys,

To put it quite simple I'm in the process of buying my girlfriend a present.

She is quite modest and often very conscientious about people buying her gifts so would never tell me exactly what she might like or wants.

I heard her mention once before she got a Michael Kors Wallet/ Purse she is quite fond of and would one day like the matching bag.

I genuinely do not mind what the price of this bag may be (I presume it could be up to anything in the region of a thousand euro). I am primarily just looking to get the one that best suits

I once managed to get a quick picture with the wallet in question (sorry about the quality) I'm just wondering If some possibly more knowledgeable individuals on fashion could point me in the right direction as it seems to be a mammoth challenge judging by the vast amount of bags for sale.

House of Fraser in Dundrum if your in Dublin or have a look on Michaels kors website. There's a big selection of different styles like tote, shoulder, satchel etc so you'll need to know the type of bag style she usually carries.

I wish somebody would buy me a Michael Kors *sigh!

I'm not sure there is a bag that is the exact match to that wallet with the gold plaque on. Luckily it is black though so you should be able to find a decent match.

Net-a-porter.com are having a sale so maybe check there. Also brown Thomas and house of Fraser stock michael kors. It won't be up to a thousand euro! You are probably looking at a few hundred depending in the style.

I think mk bags are so overdone! Everyone has one nowadays and knock offs are becoming easier and easier to get your hands on. They're nice yes but a lot of women are starting to go off them because of how common they have become. I think marc by marc Jacobs do amazing bags and would probably have a heart attack if my bf bought me one! They are slightly dearer than mk, maybe around €500 -€600 but they are to die for and not every tom dick and Harry has one. Also mulberry are very popular but for the price of them (€800 upwards) I don't find them to be anything special. Good luck!

F you do want to get a matching (or similar) MK bag, the it's probably worth taking a trip to the MK shop in Dundrum and having a chat with the sales assistants. They'd probably be delighted to help out a guy buying a present.

Alternatively try the MK counters in BT or House of Fraser.

Bring the photo in with you, and the measurements of the purse. If you got a bag that matched it and that it fitted into, I'm sure she'd be delighted.
Nice taste she has - it's a lovely purse, discreet, modest, stylish, elegant.
Incidentally, take a few photos of her wearing her current bag/s, so you and the salesperson know what style she likes. No point getting a clutch for someone who always wears a shoulder bag. (Edit: unless she's talked about how she wants a clutch!)
