I was given a Huawei phone that is locked to MetroPCS in the US.

After some searching i've found that it is actually a CDMA phone, and also only has a 14 digit IMEI.
It takes a sim card, which i didn't think any CDMA phones did.

The model is the Huawei M931.

Can anyone tell me can this phone be unlocked to work here in Ireland?

    Thanks.

    It's not possible I'm afraid.

The reason it has a SIM card is because it's LTE compatible. But it only supports the 1900 and 1700MHz bands so even if it were unlocked, it wouldn't pick up a 4G signal here. We use 800 and 1800 for LTE.
