    Hello,

My car failed the NCT due to a worn ball joint on the drivers side. I have this replaced and I was wondering does the tracking need to be done now? The numbers in the NCT test sheet were nearly perfect for the tracking, it just failed visual inspection due to the ball joint.

    Thanks.

Replacing a worn ball joint will throw your settings out for sure.
    I'd get it tracked.

If you paid to have the balljoint replaced in a reputable garage, then part of the job is alignment. If not get it done / checked.

What balljoint was it if it was just a bottom balljoint it will be grand. If it was a track rod end you will need alignment though.

Depends, some bottom balljoints are camber adjustable, bolted on with slotted holes.

Also OP states alignment was perfect before changing the joint, so perfect sitting on a worn ball and cup, that will change all be it minor with a new joint.

It didnt fail on suspension test only visual so probably only busted boot or something.

Ive never seen a bottom balljoint camber adjustable if camber is adjustable its normally done at the wishbone.

Anyway i wouldnt bother with alignment but if other people want to then thats upto them.

the alignment will change from a worn to new ball joint.

bet alignment has been preformed with the worn ball joint in place.
