Taxsaver monthly ticket now Leap Card?

    I purchased my taxsaver monthly ticket from Bus Eireann for June. I thought I would receive the standard Monthly card but instead received a Leap Card! Is this the same thing and do I use the same card all the time now (and top up each month)?

    You won't need to top it up, it should update on the card for each following month you order a taxsaver for. Just use it with the driver. They should know it's a taxsaver, validate it and let you on.

    This is the email my job got about it:

    Dear Taxsaver Customer,

    Taxsaver monthly Bus only and Bus & Luas ticketing moved to Personalised Leap Card from May 2014. In future your colleagues will retain their Personalised Leap Card and collect subsequent tickets at their local Payzone – Leap Card outlet; a listing is available at www.payzone.ie.

    From Tuesday 27th May the June ticket will be available for collection. To collect your ticket, simply ask your local Payzone – Leap Card agent to place your card on the Payzone reader terminal for a couple of seconds. To ensure the ticket is collected, the Payzone agent should check your Travel Credit balance; the balance will show as nil. The ticket will be loaded electronically on to your Leap Card when the balance is being checked.

    Please circulate this message to your colleagues to ensure they collect the June ticket before they board a bus or Luas before Sunday 1st.

    The tickets will be available for collection from the 27th of each subsequent month. Further collection points will become available shortly, e.g. Luas electronic ticket machines.

    For the bus should s/he not just validate on the right hand side (after having it topped up at payzone outlet)?

    He said bus eireann. Dont they only have a machine with the driver?
