Taking Drugs Prior To Interview

I'm not really in to drugs nor in the market for a job at the moment but I was wondering would anyone admit to drug taking prior to interview like Spud in Trainspotting? Did it boost confidence and how did the interview work out? Did you get the job?

    http://youtu.be/OwDmg74rhCw

I've never taken anything myself before going to an interview but many years ago I got called for an interview one afternoon after having a few pints. Went to the interview and got the job!

Yup , scored a bag of gear and used in the toilet just before my interview.
My veins are good , found one quickly and dropped the used spike down the bowl .

Propranolol (Inderal) works well. Anything else would seem... eh, ill advised.

Once I went to an interview stoned and got the job. It was highly paid too.

I probably would have freaked out in the interview if I was straight at the time. I wasn't particularly well in those years.

I have taken speed before going to a job interview. I got way into it and started lying then got caught out lol. If I hadn't lied I am pretty sure I would have gotten the job.

I neither condone nor condemn it.

If I smelled drink from an interviewee there wouldn't be an interview!

I tend to have lowish blood pressure. I might pass out in an interview if I took a beta-blocker. :(

I went to a college interview once still off my head for a course I really wanted.

Unsurprisingly after twitching all the way through and not being able to think of any questions beyond "is there a heavy workload?" I didn't get accepted

I abandoned my career aspirations for a time and focused my energy on getting regularly f**ked up on horrible nights at horrible parties with horrible people.

    What a tw@t I was.

Do great big piles of peyote beforehand. I can't see anything going wrong.

Had an interview in a pub once. Wasn't working at the time and was willing to give anything a go so applied for a couple of things where I wasn't even sure what the job was.

Went to the office for interview where the owner brought me to pub next door and offered me a pint. I declined as thought it was a test but he had one himself. Got the job but realised "entry level marketing job" was door to door chugging. I didn't bother going in for first day.

Not an interview but I remember talking to a guy back in college who said he also got stoned before doing exams and that he'd never failed one.

I called BS on it straightaway.

Yes, I took a Valium before & it worked well. I wouldn't advise taking anything that makes you hyper & jittery.

Some people fall apart when stressed so being stoned will work for some. You can also become very focused when stoned. It depends on the person.

No haven't done it and wouldn't, an interview is really just a conversation between 1-3 people. It's easy to get yourself worked up about them especially if you really want the job but if your focused and relaxed and treat it as a conversation about yourself you'll be in a better position. I've only ever failed one interview and not got the job and that's because the interviewer was a twat and hadn't a clue what she was interviewing for really, I complained to her manager & HR team and she was forced to hire me so I guess I did end up getting the job but she hated the ground I walked on after that so ended up leaving sharpish.

It might work for some people though , a valuum beforehand to relax. Don't know about being stoned I think it would be pretty obvious if someone was stoned during an interview, I can't smoke at all anymore tolerance is completely gone for it if I did it before an interview now it would end with me hiding under the table clinging to someones leg screaming...

I went to an interview for a job in financial services on a comedown from Ecstasy. I felt so bad that I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. Got the job though. :D

I went for a job in Dell Limerick a couple of years back. It was the week of Rag week and naturally everyone was hammered. I ended taking coke and speed that week, a fair amount of it and I think it was a day or two later I had the interview. Speed is by far the dirtiest drug you can take. it keeps you up for days and makes you paranoid.

We were given a tour of Dell, a crowd of about 20 of us. I kept on looking at the leader of the tour because I thought he was staring at me. Then we were required to assemble a piece together and memories the parts but I hadn't a clue. I had cold sweats and a knot in my stomach and the atmosphere was grey and dark.

I ddn't get the job anyway but my brain has never been right since. No doubh I haven't touched the stuff since then.

Well I know it is only a movie :p ... but spud doesnt want the job.
Here is a longer clip including the scene before hand.

As Ewen said ".. a tightrope spud..." :pac:
I knew a few lads who would intentionally destroy their chances at a job. Although, none took drugs (at least I don't think they did :p ) But they just dressed really scruffy and pretended they had zero interest in anything. lol. even holding a coversation with the manager.

Wouldn't do it myself but I know a few people who have weed before interviews or exams. It helps with their anxiety but they generally get anxious if they go a day without it anyway :P

Lots of factors but not sure the subject matter is as important as people would think. I am pretty good with stats and maths while most people would only expect art like subjects to be the only benefactors.
