BTEA to maternity benefit

Could anyone clarify what would happen in the following scenario please?

A woman is on BTEA, having transferred from Invalidity Pension. She is also working part time in insurable employment. She becomes pregnant, completes the academic year and gives birth during the summer. She claims maternity benefit and returns to university that September, still claiming maternity benefit. She returns to work when the maternity benefit runs out.

What happens when the maternity benefit runs out? Can she go back on BTEA? Or has her claim lapsed?
