Hi all. I need some advice on a good diesel saloon car.
I do 30, 000 miles per year and am looking for a reliable diesel car. The obvious choice would be passat or a4. What options is there? Fuel economy is priority and maintenance. 2005 to 2007.
    Thanks.

Honda Accord or a Lexus IS220d

both 2.2 Diesel....so unless you register the car as a PSV prepare to get screwed on the unfair tax system!

The B6 2001-2007 A4 was a very reliable car. Diesel is very rough and noisy though, but mine was still good after 200,000 miles, I think the AC compressors can be a problem on the B6. And I changed the oil with the long life every 12-15K miles whenever the display told me to so this rubbish of replacing very expensive oil after 5K-8K miles is BS !

I bought it with 100,000 miles, came with a perfect service history and was always on the long life service plan.

There are non diesel alternatives, if you want to hear it ?

Next Diesel would be the accord but they're a 2.2 and so ridiculous tax applies.
