Problem with SPD cleat

I think I may have just stripped the head on one of the hex bolts attaching the spd cleat to my shoe. Adjusted the cleat the other day without any problem, but when I went to adjust again the hex spanner started carving out the head of the bolt. Bah!

Anyone have any good tips to remove the bolt?

had a similar problem. got my DIY genius dad to sort it - took a hacksaw to the surface of the bolt to create a channel and then used a large flat-head screwdriver

Sounds good. Will the hacksaw cut through the cleat body okay? The bolt is kind of recessed into it.

If the bolts thread into a removable plate inside the shoe then if you remove the undamaged bolt you might be ale to rotate the plate inside the shoe to unthread it from the damaged bolt.

Force a torx bit slightly larger than the hex bit into the bolt, should get a grip on the stripped head, I've used this method a few times before.
