Hi just wondering if anyone can help me please. i want to connect my wii online to watch netflix.

I'm trying to use my iPhone 4 as a personal hotspot, the wii is finding my phone but won't connect.

Has anyone any idea what the problem is please?

Not sure if the Wii support WPA, i know DS Lites don't...

try changing the Encryption on the hotspot to WEP and see if it makes a difference.

The wii does, and one of the WPA2 standards, if you select WPA

IPhone is already on wpa2, don't think you can change it, at least that's what this vaguely related thread suggests

IPhone inconveniently may well be on WPA2-PSK TKIP which the Wii doesn't like, again I'm not 100% sure

I use WPA2-PSK with TKIP(+AES) I do remember something being fiddly with WPA2 though, I think it was that I had to make sure the (+AES) setting was selected in my router.

    Not sure what iphone4 uses

Online services for the Wii were discontinued on may 20th. It doesn't work because it's been turned off by Nintendo

Nonsense, only some never used services turned off. Netflix and Youtube still work fine.

The "Nintendo WiFi Connection" was turned off, which was for online gaming etc...
Not exactly a 'never used service', but the likes of netflix etc should still work alright
