Rooting a galaxy fame.

I've to use a galaxy fame for a little while until I decide what I want to upgrade to, but by god it's so bloody slow and unresponsive. I want to root it to solve this issue, I've no interest in all singing and dancing custom roms with the latest ports from kitkat. I just want a phone with an efficient firmware.

has anyone any recommendations on a good bloatfree firmware for the fame? has anyone attempted it already?

I know this is old thread, but just in case someone still looking to root their fame on 4.1.2

I rooted my OH's a couple of days ago...Vroot (iRoot) worked for me after trying Kingo, Root Master, SRSRoot, Framaroot n others...Even motochopper didn't work me.
