What was your easiest car to sell ?

Mine was a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7 TD, nothing special, bog standard, just fairly clean and tidy, and I was asking the going rate.

I had a load of calls about that car, and people wanting to look at it, I sold it within and day or two of advertising it. I could have sold her ten times over.

So what was your easiest car to sell ?

Any Honda or Toyota I've owned has been easy to sell on afterwards.

quickest i ever sold a car was in 24 hours from advertising to car being gone and whats most surpriseing is i sold it for over 25k
it was a 1 year old Bmw 330i . a 3 litre straight 6 petrol that i thought would be hard to sell. i had a call about it 20 mins after advertiseing . he came to see it an hour later . 2500 euro deposit taken 30 mins later and funds transferred into my account the following day . was all a bit intense at the time :D

Most of my cars have taken a while to sell. I generally don't lower the price online but eventually someone bites. I've sold a couple of cars for more than I bought them but I've generally put a bit of work into them too

    Golf.

Drove it in to a wall (actual accident). Insurance paid me 3 x what I paid for it.

I got a headache for free.

a Mark V GTI that I had from new .. minded it like a baby and when additional real babies came around I needed to get something practical !!!

the car was in superb nick and I had it advertised for a realistic price .. first person that saw it 48 hours later went to bank and got draft straight away. I still see it the odd time on the M1 and really miss it !!

A Yaris belonging to the wife, was sitting at the house waiting for a clean up and then I'd advertise it.
Guy came to clean the Windows, seen it and bought it then and there.

The 08 astra van I had sold within 24 hours of it being advertised. The guy traveled 4 hours to see it and bought it there and then and took it home. I had the car 7 months or so made a grand on it too. It will probably be the only car I will ever make money on :)

I bangernomic'd an S202 Mercedes C200 for nearly 2 years, usual surface rust issues, 5 speed autobox which is almost unheard of in a mid 1990's car, driving really well apart from a crack that had developed in the header tank for the radiator. Had been doing OK just keeping it topped up once a week or so, it had a coolant level sensor that flashed up a warning light whenever it needed a drink. I chanced putting it through the NCT but it dumped its coolant on the floor when they were doing the emissions check so they wouldn't complete the test.

Having been happy with the value I'd extracted from the car in the 2 years, I decided to jettison, took a couple of pic's in the carpark at work before going in at 8:30am and advertised €500 spares/repair on gumtree (wasn't paying money for this one). The phone rang off the hook (metaphorically). Showed it to a guy at lunchtime and made arrangements for my wife to collect me after work, €400 in my pocket.

My first ever car which was a Golf.
Put a picture up on Facebook, gave the price i was looking for and asked everyone to share it. Was sold in about 2 days :)

I despise social media now though.

I had an Alfa Romeo 156 JTD (the 1.9 one) from the year 2000.
Bought it in Italy for 600e and brought it back to Ireland.
Kept it a couple of months and then stuck it up for sale at around 11pm one night for 1.5k.
She was gone by 10am the next morning for around 1.3k. Made a tidy profit on it :)
Couldn't believe how many people were desperate to buy it from around the country considering it was a LHD

    My white 2010 vRS Octy.
A guy folowed me around town and into a shop to ask would I sell. This was when I only had it for ten months.
Gave him a price. He called to my house a few days later with a deposit and bought it 14 months later.
This one is looking the same. Had a guy rang me and called to look, Getting back to me this week to confirm agreed price.
Car wont be sold until Aug, 2015. :D

MkV GTi. Advertised in the afternoon and had the cash in my hands five hours later that evening. I expected loads of faffing about and window shoppers but I got a reasonable offer from the first caller.

Diesel Volvo S40, sold two days after it went on DD, first guy that came to view it, bought it.

Didn't sell it myself really but the Astra GTC.

Was trading it in but had a call from a colleague so put the garage in contact with her. Phone call back a few hours later and a grand and a half knocked off the agreed cost to change:pac:

Obviously kept schtum in work about that bit.

My corolla. Ad was up on Friday evening. Car was gone by lunchtime on Saturday.

My brother sold a starlet within 4 hours when he left it on a main road in limerick with his number on the windscreen. Those were the days before done deal though. He bought a Volvo that day that was advertised the same way and on the same road just a mile or 2 further on.

1993 Micra sold back in 2003, advertised it in Evening Herald had it sold that evening. Got loads of calls.

Only car I ever had a problem selling was a RAV 4, NCT was out in 2 months. NCT'd it early readvertised and had it sold the next day.

I'm guessing anything French is hard to sell. What's the best strategy with a Peugeot I need to sell? Good length on NCT and price it low ?

Volvo v70 diesel estate. Advertised at a realistic price, with NCT and car in reasonable condition. I had the cash in my hand the day after advertising it (Adverts.ie). I was getting calls for almost two weeks afterwards. On hindsight, I might have been able to get more cash for it and could defo have sold 10 more of the yokes... if I had them :-)

A 318is which was trashed into oblivion, I half stripped it out and 2 days after it arrived here, someone asked about it, explained it was going to be made into a track car and was sold 5 days later for more than the initial cost of the car. He was happy with what he got so thats that!

Or my old Fiesta, which for the 2 hours it was on donedeal the phone wouldn't stop ringing....
