M audio BX5A deluxe !!

Hey I have a set of bx5a deluxe active monitors and am just looking to connect them with my laptop to listen to them without any mixers or controllers or anything.

But I am unsure how to connect them up as I heard you need an external interface or something. Don't mind buying one once I know what I need to buy !!

no interface needed *unless*: a) you have ground loop/hum/other onboard-soundcard-related gnarliness; b) you need the good and righteous functions that an audio interface provides.

Cheers thanks for the help I'm just looking for something to listen to music with at the moment in a couple of months I will be looking to set up a controller with it but for now just the basic set up. Cheers thanks !!

Just one more thing at the back of the monitors there's only a coneection for an xlr cable or a trs cable would the cable go into the trs input.

If it looks like this then yes. It's a combination XLR/TRS jack
